A 5,400 sf custom home on a corner lot in Lahontan, designed for a family who wanted the house to feel relaxed in summer and bombproof in winter. The plan opens to a single great room volume oriented toward the meadow, with a tucked-in office and a generous mud room sized for ski boots, fishing rods, and dogs. The exterior leans into wood and stone proportions specific to the Lahontan vernacular, and the windows were sized to catch full-moon light through the rear glass wall.
